CHRISTOPHER J. LESAR, M.D., FACS
VASCULAR-ENDOVASCULAR SURGEON
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Chris LeSar is an experienced vascular surgeon working in
Chattanooga for the last 20 years, specializing in vascular and minimally invasive
endovascular techniques in both the inpatient, hospital, and outpatient setting. Dr. LeSar
brings the depth of knowledge to his patients with his intricate knowledge of advanced
techniques for the treatment of carotid, mesenteric, renal, venous, and peripheral vascular
disease. He has a special interest for the care of patients with critical limb ischemia.
In 2015, Dr. LeSar opened his own practice - Vascular Institute of Chattanooga, a Critical Limb
Center. The practice has grown from a small office of three, to a four-state
regional center for general vascular care, focusing on critical limb disease, with diagnostic
vascular imaging and a wound care center, employing over 100 people with two surgical suites
providing outpatient services.
The mission for Vascular Institute of Chattanooga is to change the scope of practice and
treatment of patients affected by critical limb ischemia (CLI), by reducing the number of
unnecessary amputations in the region. Through teaching and advocating for proper treatment
and rapid diagnosis of CLI, there can be a shift in the care patterns for patients, resulting in
better outcomes. By focusing on relationships and working with other specialists to
“bridge the gap”, VIC’s approach to comprehensive evaluation leads to healthier patients
maintaining their limbs, living longer lives.
